Community Guidelines
Last updated: September 18, 2026
LoveAbility is a community for adults aged 18 and over who want to connect, date, and build friendships on their own terms. These guidelines explain what we expect from everyone and what we do not allow. They apply to profiles, posts, comments, messages, photos, and every other part of the Service.
Be kind. Be real. Respect consent. If you see something that breaks these guidelines, report it and block the person. You can do both from their profile.
1. Our commitment
We built LoveAbility so people with disabilities, chronic conditions, and mental health challenges can connect without being judged for how they look or what they live with. Everyone here deserves dignity, privacy, and safety.
2. Zero tolerance
We have zero tolerance for harassment, hate, threats, and sexual exploitation. Accounts that break these rules may be removed immediately, and we may report serious cases to law enforcement.
3. Prohibited content and behaviour
Do not post, send, or do any of the following:
- Harassment and bullying — threatening, stalking, intimidating, or repeatedly contacting someone who does not want contact.
- Hate speech — attacking or dehumanising people based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, disease, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
- Sexual content — nudity, sexually explicit material, or sexual content involving minors. Never.
- Violence and self-harm — promoting or depicting violence, or encouraging self-harm or suicide.
- Non-consensual sharing — sharing someone’s photos, messages, or private information without their consent, including screenshots of private chats.
- Impersonation — pretending to be someone else, or creating fake profiles.
- Spam and scams — advertising, solicitation, pyramid schemes, romance scams, requests for money, or phishing.
- Illegal activity — anything unlawful, including selling drugs, weapons, or stolen goods.
- Platform abuse — using bots, scraping data, or trying to break or bypass our security.
4. Consent, privacy, and photo reveal
- You start as your avatar. Real photos are private until you choose to reveal them.
- Never pressure, trick, or guilt someone into revealing photos or personal details.
- Do not save, screenshot, or forward another person’s photos or messages. What is shared with you stays private.
- If someone asks you to stop contacting them, stop.
5. Your profile and content
- Use a profile that represents you, and do not use someone else’s photos.
- Keep posts and messages respectful. Topics about health and disability are welcome; attacks are not.
- Do not share another person’s health information or conditions.
6. Staying safe
- Meet in public places for a first date, and tell someone where you are going.
- Never send money, gift cards, or crypto to someone you met here.
- Keep conversations in the app until you trust someone.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, block and report.
7. Reporting and blocking
Every profile has a report and block option. Reports are private — the other person is not told who reported them. Blocking removes them from your feed, chat, and discovery. Report anything that breaks these guidelines, even if it did not happen to you.
8. How we enforce these guidelines
When we receive a report, we review the content and the account history. Depending on the severity, we may:
- Remove the content.
- Send a warning.
- Temporarily suspend the account.
- Permanently ban the account.
- Report illegal content or conduct to the authorities.
We may act on serious violations immediately, without a warning. If you believe we made a mistake, contact us.
9. Adults only
LoveAbility is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. If we learn that a minor is using the Service, we will remove the account.
10. Not a crisis service
LoveAbility is a community platform, not a crisis or emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency services immediately.
